Activities

Whether you’re looking for a luxury break, a comfortable and well equipped family holiday location, peace and solace or action-packed adventure, Degnish is the place for you.

You need never leave the farm, as the natural beauty of the surrounding area lends itself to exploring the coastline or climbing the hill Dun Crutagain (273m) which lies behind the house.  You are also welcome to walk over the farm track to Ardmaddy Castle and Gardens, pausing to add a coin to the renowned wishing tree along your way.

There is a tennis court available at Ardmaddy Castle and also fishing on the stocked trout loch.

Or take a trip through the third largest whirlpool in the world, Corryvreckan, “cauldron of the speckled seas” is not for the fainthearted where at certain tides waves can be over 9m (30 feet)! Porpoise, dolphins, whales, basking sharks, otters, eagles and deer are common sights on these trips.

Watersports can be arranged nearby at Craob Haven or sea kayaking can be arranged half an hour away on Easdale Island.

Horse riding can be arranged at Lunga riding stables, a 25 minute drive away.

Ardmaddy Castle and Arduanie Gardens (National Trust) have wonderful gardens which are open to the public and which are fully accessible.
